We’re excited to announce that we’ve added eyelash extensions to the range of services we offer at Salon Bogar. You can dial up your eye look and have longer, fuller eyelashes 24/7 with lash extensions—and our lashes are soft, comfortable and perfectly healthy for your natural lashes while they’re applied.
Eyelash extensions must be applied by a professional, and our esthetician and eyelash specialists are fully trained and ready to give you the natural doe-eyed effect you’ve been dreaming of. Each set of eyelash extensions is personally customized for your look, whether you want full glam drama or just a subtle lift of extra definition at the outer corners of your eyes.
WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
Individual synthetic false eyelashes are affixed just above the root of the natural eyelash, with one false lash bonded to one natural lash using surgical-grade adhesive that’s semi-permanent, non-irritating and safe for the eye area.
The lashes are available in a range of different thicknesses and lengths, and we’ll choose the best combination for you to achieve a look that’s completely natural and won’t weigh down your own eyelashes.
As the lashes are so soft and weightless, and attached to your lashes one by one, they’re incredibly comfortable to wear. They allow a full range of movement and you won’t feel them at all—but you’ll notice the difference in the mirror!
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF GETTING EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
A set of eyelash extensions gives the illusion of having thick, long and dark eyelashes all the time, so there’s no need to wear mascara, curl your lashes or put false eyelashes on. Many women with lash extensions skip wearing eye makeup altogether, as they feel the extensions give their eyes enough definition on their own.
They’re very low maintenance, with no need to use specialty products or even wear any makeup with them—you can just get up and go. You’ll save time getting ready and feel confident that you’re looking your best, all day, every day.
HOW LONG DO EYELASH EXTENSIONS LAST?
A set of eyelash extensions will stay on up to five weeks, depending on the life cycle of your natural eyelashes. Eyelashes grow, fall out and replenish themselves the same as any other hair on your body, and as your extensions are attached to your natural lashes, they’ll grow and fall out with them.
You’ll notice your extensions might start to look a little thin around the 3–4 week mark. At this point we recommend coming to see us for a fill to keep them looking full and luscious.
WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS LIKE?
An eyelash extension application can take between 90 minutes to three hours, based on how many lashes are applied. The application process is comfortable and completely painless—you’ll be lying down with your eyes closed, and it’s really quite relaxing!
WHAT CARE IS NEEDED FOR EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
To get the best results from your lash extensions and to extend their life, there are a few things you can do to take care of them.
Don’t get your lashes wet or expose them to any moisture or steam in the first 24 hours after application, and don’t swim, sweat or workout in the first 48 hours.
While you probably won’t want to wear makeup, you can still wear it safely without affecting the extensions. If you want to wear mascara, apply it to only the tips of the lashes, and don’t use waterproof mascara. Avoid makeup or makeup removers with wax or oils as they can break down the adhesive used with the lashes and cause them to fall out prematurely.
Use only oil-free makeup removers and cleansers, and apply them very gently around the eye area with a Q-tip or soft cloth. Keep your extensions clean with a small amount of oil-free makeup remover, and comb them through gently to keep them aligned and even.
To avoid bending the lashes or making them misshapen, try to sleep on your back and don’t rub your eyes aggressively.
Lastly, always get your extensions maintained by a professional. Come and see us when you’re ready for a fill or make an appointment if you’d like to have the lashes removed. Attempting to pull them or wash them off yourself could cause damage to your natural eyelashes.
